I thoroughly enjoyed working with Arun in order to create something that would truly benefit his life, and passion for filming. Through storytelling and experiences, we really got to know Arun and it was amazing to build this bond while creating something so personal to him.
Process
Below you can see the various prototypes we created in order to come up with the most suitable design.
In these images you can see when we went to meet Arun in Heuston station in order to test a prototype and install it onto his wheelchair. We also travelled to Galway in order to test some more prototypes
After this project I truly understood how powerful human centered-design is. It was incredible to build something so personal to one person and see the effects it can have on them. When you build something that makes someone smile all the hard work is worth it. The skills and lessons I learned through this project, I have taken with me to other projects that aren’t necessarily human centered. While doing this project I learned the importance of getting out and talking, and being with people to discuss experiences and memories. I think this is so important when designing anything. The most powerful research comes from storytellers.
