For this project, our aim was to help school children Kabwe, Zambia with their everyday lives in school. Having been told the kids receive one slice of mango a day for their breakfast I decided to look into the properties of mango.
I found out that mangoes typically last 2-3 days having being cut open. However, this time span can be increased by the simple method of dehydration. In the school, there is access to a stone oven in a kitchen facility. By simply cooking the mango it can last up to 30 days.
The process simply involves cutting, crushing, and cooking the fruit for 3 hours. I tested the method with various fruits to see which would work well also. The benefits of this process are being able to make the fruit roll ups in bulk before they go out of season, extending how long this simple pleasure will last for the children, and making it transportable to bring home with them or even teach their parents.

Autarky - A short project
For this project, we were tasked with taking a look at how Covid 19  could affect our access to raw materials, and how we could complete everyday tasks if shops were to close, etc.
As a barista and coffee lover I was curious as to how I'd go about making a coffee with no cup, no milk and no Coffee!
Below is a video on how I approached this task.
